Trying something for the first time when you need it to save your life is never a good idea. This entry level course is designed for students who want a solid foundation in modern survival skills. Survival is much easier with modern tools and equipment. This two day course will show you what to take into the wilderness with you and how to make the most of it.
During this course students will learn to make shelters from tarps and other modern materials, fire making with multiple devices, using water filters, rescue signaling, how to design their own personal survival kit and much more. Modern survival skills not only provide possibly lifesaving wilderness survival skills but concepts that are useful in the event of a natural disaster. During this course students gain the knowledge and experience to meet basic survival challenges.
This is a two day course. Primitive camping is available and students are encouraged to bring any gear they would like to use or try out. A meal is provided Sat evening.
