This course will challenge even the most capable outdoorsman. Expect your physical and mental limits to be pushed. You will be tired, hungry, scraped, scratched, bug bitten etc. This course is not for everyone and students considering this course should have a very thorough knowledge of wilderness survival and field improvisation.
During this five day course students will cover night movement, land navigation, water crossings, escape and evasion, shelter, food and water and much more. There is a considerable amount of hiking in this course but don’t worry about carrying your gear because you won’t have any. In fact the only thing you need to bring to this course is a pair of old lace up tennis shoes and an old t-shirt that can be used as a rag. You want a vacation, go to SERE school.
Some of this course takes place in the 12,000 acre public hunting and fishing land adjoining Blackthorn-USA’s property. Please have a valid fishing license if you intend on fishing. No food, No water, No cel phones, No hats. Students must be eighteen years old to take this course.
This course is tough! Mall ninjas and gear collectors should stay on the couch. The few that do complete this course will receive a Blackthorn-USA certificate of completion. They will also receive a Blackthorn-USA patch and the “Extreme” tab to go with it. And of course you will leave with a very well deserved sense of accomplishment, fond memories and the self confidence and knowledge that you have the skills to survive!
You must register for this course at least 60 days prior to the course date.
