“Naked into the Wilderness – 2”
Primitive Wilderness Skills, Applied & Advanced
by John and Geri McPherson
Response to the publication of the “Naked Into the Wilderness” series first book, Primitive Wilderness Living & Survival Skills has prompted Prairie Wolf to follow up with this book, titled appropriately Applied & Advanced. As with the first book this was written to not just inform but to allow the reader to readily accomplish the task at hand. Ten chapters, again crammed with photos, cover Applied (Dugout canoe w/stone tools, Several days in the wilderness [Primitive – Primitive]) and Advanced (brain tanning of pelts and robes, Odds n’ Ends, essays on Hantavirus and Nutrition). Lots of information gained from first hand experience in one spot for the reader who desires to go beyond just reading about “how-to”.
The authors, John & Geri McPherson, aka Prairie Wolf, know of what they write. This is not a compilation of other author’s works nor a rehashing and perpetuating of myths. The McPhersons not only know their stuff but also how to present it. They have perfected these skills over a lifetime of learning and decades of actual hands on experience. They have been training the U.S. Army Special Forces S.E.R.E. survival instructors in these skills in an ongoing program since 2004. 1996. 290 Pages
*A note from Dave:
I’m quite pleased to offer these books for sale here. John and Geri McPherson are friends and neighbors of mine. I have learned much from John over the last 20 or so years and the majority of that information is presented in these books. With the Naked into the Wilderness series you will learn in detail how to accomplish many primitive and survival skills. These are the best books on the subject available in my opinion. John and Geri not only teach it, they live it.
